More About Your Inspector

Personal:
Its all about Oregon, especially The Gorge. Growing up on a river next to a ski area in Minnesota, Steve Carlson first came to Oregon in the summer of 1984 to participate in ski race training on the Palmer glacier at Timberline ski area on Mt Hood. Being a novice sailboarder, Steve was excited to hear that the best high wind sailboarding in North America was in nearby Hood River. It only took a few minutes of watching the windsurfing in the Gorge to change the course of Steve's life.

After summers of being involved in and working for water ski shows, Steve decided to spend a summer sailboarding and working in the Gorge. Steve spent the summer of 1987 (and several after that) camping in his Volkswagen van, working at night and sailboarding as much as possible. Steve met his partner and wife Shelley after that first summer in the Gorge and was lucky enough to permanently relocate to Hood River in the winter of 1996.

In addition to a years of construction and inspection experience, Steve has worked as a Professional Water Skier, Ski instructor, Windsurfing instructor, Waiter, Cook , Bike tour guide, sailboard builder and a few other things. Steve's current recreational interests include mountain biking, kiteboarding, skateboarding and a variety of snow sports. Steve is a dedicated husband and involved father of 2 fabulous children. Besides family and recreational pursuits, Steve enjoys designing and building modern architecture.
