Industry Involvement: Steve became involved in Home Inspection since 1997 and has been a full time inspector ever since. Steve has been actively involved in several trade associations including; the American Society of Home Inspectors, The Oregon Pest Control Association and The Oregon Association of Home Inspectors. Steve has served for 2 years on Board of Directors for the Oregon Association of Home Inspectors. Resume; B.A University of Minnesota; Oregon State Certified Home Inspector, Oregon Licensed General Contractor, Oregon Pest Control Applicator; Washington Structural Pest Inspector. Steve has taken and passed the Oregon Home Inspector Certification Examination and the National Home Inspector Examination (NHIE)- The industries most difficult test required for membership in ASHI- the American Society of Home Inspectors.
Steve became involved in construction at the age of 15, working summers for a custom home builder in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota and working a variety of unique construction projects through college. After graduating from college Steve worked full time in construction, first for a residential remodeler and then for a large construction company specializing in commercial remodeling and insurance repairs. Working in residential and commercial projects has given Steve a diverse hands on knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
Steve has had hundreds of hours of Home Inspection specific training. Since 1997 Steve has annually participated in 25 to 40 hours of continuing education in Home Inspection, Wood Destroying Insect, Wood Destroying Organism and Building Sciences. Annual training usually involves 1 out of state conference and several regional educational seminars. Steve's dedication to continuous education in the field of Home Inspection benefits you in your home inspection. Outside the Home Inspection realm, Steve subscribes to several construction and design trade journals to keep abreast on modern construction materials and practices.
